Generation PowerView 8000 Series
The Powerview 8000 Series is an embedded
HMI with the peripheral support of a PC. Nematron's new Powerview
8000 series provides a cost-effective ease-of-use solution.
Use Powerview to maximise the performance of general Control
System or PLC Workstation applications where local operator
interface terminals are required.
PV-8000 - The Integration Centre
The
new ARM 32 bit RISC based architecture delivers crisp interface
action. The Powerview touch screen input response has proven
to be amongst the quickest in the industry and makes it ideal
for both discrete manufacturing and process applications.
ViewBuilder 8000 Development Application Software
ViewBuilder 8000 takes full advantage of the PV-8000’s
high resolution display with a wealth of application development
tools. Enhanced graphics capability provides support for BMP,
JPG, and both static and dynamic GIF file formats.
The advanced object libraries containing bar graphs, trend
displays, list & dropdown menus, user configurable shapes
and engineering icons facilitate fast mimic and screen development
reducing project implementation time. Alarm management, historical
and real time event & trend functions bring performance
and functionality typical of larger scale SCADA Systems to
the PV-8000 Operator Interface Terminal.
Ethernet, OPC Server (optional), and Serial are amongst the
extensive Communication options. The PV-8000 also has its
own Peer-to-Peer capability to share data across Ethernet.
An inbuilt Global Data Access mechanism allows PV-8000 applications
to exchange data through global variables; enabling one PV-8000
application to operate a device connected to another PV-8000.
Global Data Access is also ideal for remote monitoring and
fault diagnosis.
A suite of efficient application test tools allows the developer
to simulate off-line and online for both single and multiple
device applications from the PC. Additionally, a full control
function allows the developer to run multiple simulation screens
on a single PC to monitor data from many PV-8000s simultaneously.

The OPC server support enables SCADA system access to
data residing in PV-8000s and PLCs via Ethernet. The PV-8000
Master/ Slave OPC Server supports all of the listed PLC drivers.

Global Data Access and Exchange
Through
Ethernet each PV-8000 can communicate with one another
and exchange data with other PV-8000s. In addition,
each PV-8000 can operate the devices connected to other
PV-8000s. Global Data Access also facilitates remote
monitoring and fault diagnosis. |

The ViewWindow emulator function in ViewBuilder offers
the application developer multiple options for test and simulation.

Typical Applications
1. Pointe Controller Application
PowerView provides the ideal HMI platform for low cost Embedded
Control Applications. Opening up the window on your production line
or process by enhancing local operator interface invariably leads
to improved efficiency. Used in a PLC workstation application the
Ethernet version of PowerView supports a multiple controller network
on Modbus TCP/IP.

2. Data Acquistion
The versatile OptiLogic
industrial Ethernet I/O system with its wide range
of sensor interfaces and a Nematron PowerView provide the
building blocks for a highly distributed data acquisition
system over cable or wireless media.
