Formula Series Undergoes System Unit Facelift

Nematron Europe is pleased to announce the introduction of additional system unit options for its popular Formula Series. The new options, including a range of Intel Core TM Duo powered systems, give rise to greater choice, flexibility, performance and cost-effective configurations.

With the increasing uptake of Windows Vista and the upcoming end of Windows XP, system designers now have to plan for the inevitable and avoid designing new applications based on XP which customers and end users may soon be complaining are either not “future-proof” or just plain out of date. For these applications, this means using Vista and choosing a hardware platform that supports Core 2 Duo CPUs, 64-bit applications, more memory, high speed drives and (increasingly) RAID. Nematron now has the platform which delivers all these features.

However, for current applications using Windows XP (and even Windows 2000) the high power Pentium M or Celeron M is still the best choice, particularly as legacy software, device drivers and system requalification often present major obstacles to upgrading to a Core 2 Duo platform. Nematron continues to provide a range of Pentium M and Celeron M based hardware platforms with choices of either low-cost or long-lifetime hardware.

Users now have the widest range of options in CPU technology, front side bus, System Memory capacity and type, storage options such as ATA, SATA and CF, multiple Ethernet and USB port configurations, Firewire IEEE 1394a and even TV or HDTV outputs.
