ARC
Systems Co Ltd & Nematron Corporation jointly announces HyperKernel
IP transfer Agreement
ARC
Systems & Nematron are pleased to announce the completion of a transaction
to transfer all rights of ownership in Nematron’s HyperKernel Real
Time Subsystem to Tokyo based ARC Systems.
The
transaction forms part of an ongoing realignment plan for Nematron.
David Hicks – Nematron CEO commented, ‘While HyperKernel continues
to be a key component of our OpenControl PC-Based Control Product
Strategy, divesting the HyperKernel development effort will enable
Nematron to concentrate it’s software resources in key strategic
product development areas while further strengthening the relationship
with a major partner long term.’
Norio
Sasagawa – ARC Systems’ Representative Director explained ‘ARC Systems
have had experience of supplying HyperKernel to NASA through a Japanese
establishment JAXA (formally known as NASDA), by using HyperKernel
as a test programme for aerospace equipment. The JAXA experience
confirmed Hyperkernel's future possibilities and ARC Systems is
currently working on a project in which HyperKernel will be used
to control robots." From now on, ARC will make every effort to ensure
HyperKernel has an important role in strengthening Nematron’s software
products even further.”
ARC
Systems has developed specialized skills along with a reputation
for expertise in Microsoft Windows real time Kernel applications
within the aeronautical, aerospace and factory automation markets.
The synergy and similar interests between the two companies provides
a vehicle for mutual growth, both technologically and commercially.
Nematron
will continue to sell HyperKernel as a shrink wrapped product as
well as provide first level support to customers outside of Japan.
