Introducing the PowerView 8000 Integration Centre

Nematron Europe is pleased to announce the release of the PowerView 8000 Operator Interface Terminal. The all-new PowerView 8000 Series hardware builds on the successful PowerView 500 platform and brings PC like expansion to Operator Interface Terminal applications.

Focusing on the growth in small system expansion needs, the PowerView 8000 is a veritable Goliath. Impressive support for an array of USB devices from Memory Stick to bar code readers and printers lead the PowerView 8000s extensive hardware support capabilities. Add an IDE interface for hard disk drive, a Compact Flash socket, Wi-Fi and Audio support, and PowerView 8000 takes down previous hardware barriers to using Operator Interface Terminals in many applications. The resistive touch screen is available in display sizes of 5.6”, 8.0”, 10.4”, 12.1” and provides crisp, high resolution 64K colour images. A 65Mb System Memory, 32Mb Flash Memory, 3 USB Ports, 3 Serial and a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet Port, IDE Interface, Compact Flash and VESA mount provide a flexible and comprehensive specification on which to build.

The new hardware platform is only the beginning. The new ViewBuilder 8000 Development Environment with its wide range of communication drivers – including Allen Bradley Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP - takes maximum advantage of the new platform. Sophisticated, new object management tools make ViewBuilder 8000 a quick and efficient environment in which to develop the application. Traditional HMI functions such as Pop-up Windows, Bar Graphs, Numerical, Text & Data Entry Displays and Animation are combined with comprehensive Alarm management, Historical and Real Time Event, Trend and Recipe functions; bringing performance and functionality typical of large scale SCADA systems. A User configurable Operator Log-in Screen is underpinned with a 7 level password protection system and individual Object Protection functions to bring a high level of system security. Supporting up to eight different languages with Windows TrueType font and Unicode the PowerView 8000 is ideal for System Integrators working in the international markets.

Communication performance is greatly improved with Global Data Access - an Enhanced data exchange mechanism - introduced through peer-to-peer communication allowing PowerView 8000 Operator Stations to communicate with one another and have access to control devices attached to peers in the network. Up to 16 different PLC device types can be connected simultaneously as well as offering OPC options.

Application testing on the development PC can be carried out during and at the end of the development project with the in-built On-line and Off-line Simulation.
